Judicael Perroy Performs January 25th

U.S. Classic Guitar President William Jenks is excited to present the third concert in the 2018-2019 Portland International Guitar Series XIV featuring French artist Judicaël Perroy on Friday, January 25th, 2019 at 8 PM at the historic Eliot Chapel located at 1101 SW 12th Ave. in downtown Portland. He will teach the first of 7 master classes scheduled this season the following day on Saturday, January 26th at 11 AM in the Fireside Room also at the Eliot Center.

Judicaël Perroy has become widely known as an extraordinary virtuoso classical guitarist and musician with several prizes to his credit. In 1997 he captured the prestigious first prize of the 15th Guitar Foundation of America International Competition and Convention awarding him tour of the United States and Canada with more than sixty concerts and master classes. In between his North American tour that year, he gave several concerts in France where his performances were broadcast live on France-Musique followed by extensive recital tours throughout the world. As a recording artist, he has recorded six CDs and one DVD.  His most recent critically acclaimed album Paris une solitude peuplée features works by Villa-Lobos,Skryabin, Ponce and more.

Mr. Perroy is also a world class teacher and he recently accepted a position to serve on faculty at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.  As a former professor of guitar in Paris, he produced an impressive five first prize winners of the prestigious Guitar Foundation of America competition including Thomas Viloteau (2006), Gabriel Bianco (2008), Florian Larousse (2009), Thibaut Garcia (2015), and Xavier Jara (2016) all who have performed in Portland presented by the former organization Portland Classic Guitar.
