Roberto Fabbri and Daughters Perform June 22 and 24 in Season Finale Concert

Portland Classic Guitar (PCG) artistic director William Jenks is excited to present Italian guitarist Roberto Fabbri and Daughters in the 2017-2018 season finale concert on Friday, June 22nd at 8 PM at Marylhurst University's St. Anne’s Chapel.  A master class will proceed their concert also at Maryhurst University's St. Catherine's Hall Room 206 on Thursday, June 21st at 7:00 PM

There will be a second performance on the Oregon Coast in Manzanita at St. Catherine’s Episcopal Church on Sunday, June 24th at 4:00 PM.  This concert will also feature a performance by the U.S. Guitar Duo (William Jenks and David Tutmark) and the Marylhurst University Guitar Ensemble directed by William Jenks.  Tickets for both concerts can be found at PortlandClassicGuitar.com.  The fee to audit the master class is $20 at the door.

Roberto Fabbri has an extremely active career as a fine performer, composer, teacher and writer.  He studied at the State Conservatory of "Santa Cecilia" where he graduated in 1986 with full honors; subsequently he achieved the diploma of bachelor in music with praise.   In 2007, Soundboard magazine stated, “Roberto Fabbri is flamboyant and technically astonishing - a definite crowd pleaser.  His own compositions range from unabashedly pretty to exuberant barn-burners, often with a pop sensibility" 

He has developed his musical career as a soloist, and with the famous guitar quartet "Nexus", now called "Roberto Fabbri Guitar Quartet".   Mr. Fabbri is regularly invited to perform, teach Master Classes, and judge many international competitions around the world. 

Besides his work as a performer, Roberto Fabbri has written numerous compositions for guitar and has carried out an intense didactic and editorial activity, cooperating with different publishing houses such as Anthropos, Berben, Playgame, EMR, Warner Bros, and Carisch.   In 2012, Fabbri signed with Sony classical and he recorded his own music in his cd called "Nei Tuoi Occhi".

 As an educator, he is the headmaster and teacher of classical guitar at the Academy "Novamusica e Arte" in Rome and presently teaches classical guitar at the State Conservatory "F. Torrefranca" in Vibo Valentia and at the Institute of High Artistic and Musical Formation "Giulio Briccialdi" in Terni.

This season finale concert of the 2017-2018 Portland Classic Guitar Concert Series is not to be missed and will be the final concert on the beautiful campus of Marylhurst University which will be closing this summer.   The Portland Classic Guitar Concert Series will continue and please stay tuned for the announcement of the exciting new venue and series for the upcoming 2018-2019 season!
